You’re Perfect

You're Perfect is a narrative short about the quiet gap between the version of a person the world agrees on and the one they carry privately. It is a small film, deliberately: a handful of rooms, a handful of people, and the pressure that builds when nobody says the true thing.

The film was developed from the script outward. Every room was designed before it was lit, and every lighting decision was made to serve a single idea — that a space can hold a feeling the dialogue refuses to name.

You’re Perfect was selected as an official short for the FujiFilm x Kaleido Pictures Film Festival, produced with camera equipment supplied by FujiFilm.

I wrote the film, then stayed with it through design and lighting — which meant the visual grammar was never separate from the text. The set was built to be lit; the lighting was built to serve the script.

As gaffer I kept the palette narrow and the sources practical wherever possible. Motivated light, soft falloff, and a deliberate refusal to over-illuminate. Where the frame goes dark, it is because the scene asked for it.

I also carried a stills camera throughout the shoot, documenting the production as it happened. Those frames are collected below.
