MENA Director Documentary

Synopsis

This documentary was produced to support the release of Vrimo Milad’s feature film, highlighting his journey as one of the youngest feature film directors in the MENA region.

I joined the project through Kaleido Pictures Creative Services, where our team works across a variety of commercial and documentary productions. The documentary was filmed at HotCold Studios and focused on interviews about his filmmaking journey and upcoming feature.

Contribution

Working as part of the Creative Services crew meant helping across multiple areas of the production rather than staying within a single department.

I assisted with setting up the interview environment, including the backdrop, lighting, stands, and other equipment before filming began.

It was a great opportunity to work on a real client project and see how commercial documentary productions are organized. Meeting Vrimo and hearing about directing a feature film at such a young age was especially inspiring, and the experience gave me another perspective on the different kinds of productions a film crew can work on.

Looking Back

Working on this documentary showed me how different commercial productions can be from narrative film sets. I learned the importance of preparing a professional interview setup and how every crew member contributes, even when they’re working behind the scenes. Meeting a young feature film director also reminded me that age doesn’t define what’s possible if you’re willing to keep learning and creating.
