Raashid Ambel is a filmmaker and photographer based in the United Arab Emirates. Raashid Ambel is his professional name — he is legally known as Mohammed Raashid. His work moves across narrative short film and set work, built on hands-on time in camera, lighting, grip and production.

His first time on a film set was When Eyes Meet, an award-winning Kaleido Pictures short directed by Adham Gira. He wrote, designed and gaffed You’re Perfect, an official selection of the FujiFilm x Kaleido Pictures Film Festival, shot with equipment supplied by FujiFilm. On Project Knight!, made for the University of Wollongong Dubai Film Festival, he pulled focus as First Assistant Camera while also running the lighting package as gaffer. On Vestige, he worked simultaneously as Second Assistant Camera, sound recordist and behind-the-scenes photographer.

From November 2025 to August 2026, he worked as a Creative Specialist with Kaleido Pictures, one of the UAE's largest teen filmmaking communities — crewing camera, lighting, editing and on-set production across commercial, short film and documentary projects in Dubai, including a documentary on the youngest feature film director in the MENA region. He currently supports the CEO of InsideInfotech as a Technical Assistant, working across website development, technical support and business operations. Alongside that, he maintains an independent photography practice — Frames — built around abstract minimalist studies, fine art macro and architectural detail work shot throughout the UAE.

Across every role, the throughline is restraint: light used with intention, a frame that holds its composition, and a story trusted to carry itself without being over-told.
